Having spent its alloted $250,000 budget, including the purchase, dismantling and reconstruction of a $100,000 local house as well as the lobby of the now closed North Adams Cinema, Mass MoCA is in the midst of "non negotiable" demands by the Swiss artist Christoph Buchel. The exhibition which was scheduled to open in December, in the museum's largest space, may never be seen by the public. Mass MoCA is coming into its prime season and this is an enormous disaster both aesthetic and financial. Against the artist's strict demands and instructions certain VIP's, including the Mayor, have gotten behind the scenes glimpses of the controversial project. The vivid imagination of MCLA studio professor, Gregory Scheckler, has inspired him to write an alleged preview of the work. This is as close as we may ever get to experiencing the installation by the Swiss trashmeister. Now at http://www.berkshirefinearts.com
