Gallery Curators at Spencertown Academy Arts Center
Post Call for Entries
The Spencertown Academy Arts Center is seeking entries for an
exhibition of
drawings to be presented May 12- June 17 at its Gallery located at
790 Route
203, Spencertown, New York.
Head Gallery Curator Gwenn Mayers, assisted by curators Linda Horn
and Nancy
Van Daren, are interested in submissions of drawings that are the
artist's
primary means of expression rather than those that are preliminary to
work
executed in another medium.
Artists should submit up to six examples of their work on CD
(preferred) or
slides, clearly labeled with title, dimensions, and medium and a
one-page
artist's statement or bio. A stamped, self-addressed envelope is
required
for work to be returned. Please do not submit original artwork for the
selection process.
The deadline for submission is Friday, March 16, 2007. Work can be
mailed to
Spencertown Academy Arts Center, PO Box 80, Spencertown, NY 12165, or
can be
dropped off at the Academy office between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. Monday
through
Friday.
The Spencertown Academy Gallery is housed in a 19th Century historic
landmark building that was once the village schoolhouse. Exhibits
throughout
the year spotlight a broad range of art, including, most recently, a
solo
exhibition by realist painter Robin Tewes and a group exhibit
featuring
collages by noted artist Joyce Kozloff.
More information about the gallery is available at
www.spencertownacademy.org or by calling the Academy at 518.392.3693.
