*Mr. Widgetz comes to Town* *Daniel Field Exhibition*
*Opening Reception: Saturday May 12th, from 5-8pm.**

For his exhibition at the Storefront's Mainspace Daniel Field (proprietor of
Widgitz Studio in North Adams) will install his matchless collection of
potential art making materials. For sale at 25 cents a pound this ponderous
cornucopia represents a lifetime of searching through the detritus that
surrounds contemporary life.
A keen observer of all things unusual, Field will arrange some of his
"finished" sculptures amidst this collection. His practice of mixing
together the factory built, (or "readymade") with his own fabrications is
evident at his Widgitz Studio, where along with the Outsider creations that
he collects and displays, his archive of found, made and altered things has
become a mini museum.
Disorientation is the usual response upon entering his space. A "what is
this, where am I" puzzlement is inevitable. This provocation of the
unfamiliar, this displacement of logic, is Field's preferred terrain, and
the one in which he traffics.
Entitled "Undead Artist Estate Sale", the exhibition will be on view
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. May 12 thru June 3. Hours are from 12-5pm.
